(1) Restaurants
There are coffee shops, restaurants, and one convenient store on campus. In addition to on-campus restaurants, there are shops or restaurants around campus within walking distance. 

(2)Electronic Information Facilities
A total length of twelve kilometers of optical fibers has been laid out through on-campus offices, study rooms, labs, and housing units networked. This provides students and faculty members with access to the database for teaching, research and administration from the PCs in any part of the campus.

(3) Health Service
A spacious health center with the best equipment is provided to take care for students' health. Seminars and consulting services are conducted regularly to develop students’ sense of health care and industrial safety.

(4) Student Counseling Service
Counseling Center is to increase students’ self-awareness, solve problems and confusion caused by lives, studies, and career development; furthermore, to help students advance personal potential and search for self-realization.

(5) Library
The library mainly supports and assists teachers as well as students of the university in teaching, learning, and researching. Devoted to providing readers with a spacious, warm and comfortable environment for knowledge pursuit, the library focuses on a reader-based service and offers high-quality personal information service. It also conducts various extension programs and activities, which symbolizes itself as an excellent place for life-long learning where diverse and integrated service is offered.

The library has a total floor area of 16,571 m2 (180, 468 ft2) and approximately 1,500 seats for reading and studying. The entire library is equipped with wireless Internet devices, various data banks for teaching and research, abundant books and electronic resources, multimedia audio-visuals and a rich collection of authentic works by esteemed artists. Undoubtedly, the library has become technological and humanistic.

The library currently has a collection of more than 592,000 volumes/articles. It will keep increasing the volume of professional books or articles of various areas, thus promoting the quantity and quality of both print and digital collections.

◉Coverage requirements

Foreign Students are required to have sufficient medical and accident coverage for the first six months or the semester they stay in Taiwan. Foreign Students that applied for resident visa have to get insurance covering the first months of their stay. After legal residents for full six months, foreign students will be transferred to national health insurance. Students that only stay for one semester need to check whether the domestic insurance covers any cost made in Taiwan.

◉Insurance Fee’s

All enrolled students are mandatory to join in the student safety insurance. The insurance fee will be included in the registration fee payment.
Besides, foreign students will join the medical insurance operated by Cathay Life Insurance for the first six months, the fee is NT$3,000 (NT$500 a month).

* Before getting NHI card (with Cathay Life Insurance), if you go to a hospital or clinic to see a doctor, you need to ask the doctor for the "DIAGNOSIS" and "RECEIPT", then apply for reimbursement at OIA.

* Reimbursable amount:
- The maximum per subject is NTD 1,000 in one day.

*Please bring your ARC, passport, student card, bank book, diagnosis, receipt!

The National Health Insurance Act stipulates that foreign nationals who are legal residents of Taiwan must enroll in the National Health Insurance program upon living in Taiwan for 6 months.
(6 months of continuous residence in Taiwan or with one trip abroad not exceeding 30 days when the actual residency period of 6 months is reached after the days abroad have been deducted).

Guidelines of National Yunlin University of Science and Technology Scholarship for International Students ※ Incoming international students: Degree-seeking applicants (including dual degrees system), who apply to YunTech according to Regulations Regarding International Students Undertaking Studies in Taiwan, with high school, bachelor or master degrees may apply for the scholarship through admission application. ※ Registered students:  Foreign students are eligible to apply for the second year scholarship at the end of the second semester. I. Who can apply :
   1. Graduate Students with YunTech academic status(excluding In-Service education program student)  
   2. The paper applied for funding is accomplished and will be published with the credit to the University (YunTech),
       and have been completed in the school but have not yet been published.      

II. Deadline for Application:No later than the 20th of the even-numbered month before the conference (excluding holidays).

III. About the Grant: 
       1. The total amount of subsidy is up to NT$20,000
       2. Grant Item(grantees have to pay by themselves in advance)
           (1) Round-trip economy class ticket fee (directly from Taiwan to the location of conference) 
           (2) Registration Fee
       3. When the annual subsidy funds are exhausted, the applications will no longer be accepted.

IV. Apply Procedure: 
      1. prepare the application documents, and the application form must be signed by the applicant, advisor,
          department staff and supervisor of the department
      2. After deliberation by the OIA, the approved document will be returned.
      3. Grantee must apply for official business leave for going abroad on the Student Leave Application Online System
          (in YunTech SSO) in advance. Students participating in various activities on weekdays or holidays
          (including summer and winter vacation) for an official purpose, with no courses scheduled at YunTech during the leave,
         are still required to log into the Student Leave Application Online System to apply for leave.

(in YunTech SSO) in advance. Students participating in various activities on weekdays or holidays
(including summer and winter vacation) for an official purpose, with no courses scheduled at YunTech during the leave,
are still required to log into the Student Leave Application Online System to apply for leave.
4. Those who have not filed a written report on their experience of going abroad to settle the case
may not apply for subsidies anymore.
5. After the subsidy is approved, those who have not gone abroad or any change (time, place, etc.)
for some reasons have to inform the OIA contact person.
6. If the conference to be attended is conducted online, applicants should fill in “online” on the
location field of the application form, and also fill in the country of the organizer.

I. Who can apply :
 Student group with YunTech academic status, which group consists of at least 5 undergraduate students or at least 2 graduate students.
    
II. Apply Date:
      1. 1st Batch: November 1st to 25th (go abroad next January to June)
      2. 2nd Batch: May 1st to 25th (go abroad in July to December in the same year)

III. About the Grant:
       1. The total amount of subsidy for each person is up to NT$10,000, but for each group is limited to NT$100,000 at most.
       2. Grant Items(grantees have to pay by themselves in advance):
          include air tickets, material costs, registration fees, administrative fees or insurance fees.
       3. Although the application case complies with the relevant regulations, the subsidy may not be granted due to insufficient funds.

IV. Apply Procedure: 
      1.Applicants (by group) should prepare two copies of each of the following documents, 
        and send them to the Office of International Affairs (OIA) after passed the preliminary review by their department
        (signed by the applicant, advisor, department staff and supervisor of the department).
        (1) Application Form
        (2) Proposal
        (3) Student List
        (4) Consent form of student's parent or guardian
        (5) A photocopy of the agree letter of the interviewed unit
      2. After deliberation by the Committee, OIA will notify the Department to inform the application team.
      3. Grantee must apply for official business leave for going abroad on the Student Leave Application Online System
          (in YunTech SSO) in advance. Students participating in various activities on weekdays or holidays
          (including summer and winter vacation) for an official purpose, with no courses scheduled at YunTech during the leave,
         are still required to log into the Student Leave Application Online System to apply for leave.

Subsidy for  Domestic Graduate Students by the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) 
to Attend International Academic Conferences

I. Who can apply :
    1. Full-time graduate students with YunTech academic status(excluding In-Service education program student)  
    2. The paper applied for funding is accomplished and will be published with the credit to the University (YunTech),
        and have been completed in the school but have not yet been published.      

II. Deadline for Application:
     No later than the first day of the previous month of the conference holding month
     (YunTech deadline is before 12:00 noon) 
     (For example, if the conference will open on August 15, 2021,
     the application should be submitted before 12:00 July 1, 2021 by YunTech students).
     Application will not be accepted after the deadline.
     (After the postgraduate student submits it online, it must be submitted online by OIA.
     Please be sure to submit it before the YunTech deadline.)

III. About the Grant: 
       1. Grant Item(grantees have to pay by themselves in advance)
           (1) Round-trip airfare: An economy class round-trip ticket for the most direct route between
                Taiwan and the location of the conference, and the airlines restricted to those operated by Taiwan-registered companies.
           (2) Conference Registration Fee
           (3) For severely disabled grantees who need to be accompanied by an accompanying caregiver to
                attend the international academic conference, a round-trip economy class air ticket for the accompanying
                caregiver  may be subsidized with the approval of the NSTC.
       2. Expenses incurred for attending international conference, but not covered by the subsidies listed above,
           shall not be  reimbursed under any research projects funding of the NSTC.
       3. This subsidy is for the exclusive use of funds, and no other person may attend the international conference,
           change participation in other conferences, or transfer to other purposes.

IV. How to Apply: 
      1. Graduate students should first log in to the "Academic Research Service Portal" of the NSTC website 
          with their personal account to make the required documents online and send them to the applicant institution.
          The students should notify YunTech OIA of their application for the subsidy, then OIA will collect and compile
           the application materials and submit online to the NSTC.          
      2. Required Documents:
         (1) The application form
         (2) The official document indicating that a paper has been accepted for presentation at a conference
         (3) The abstract of the paper to be presented
         (4) The faculty adviser’s letter of recommendation (the student’s foreign language proficiency must be indicated).
              (Uploaded by the adviser with his/her personal account in the NSTC, not uploaded by the graduate student)
         (5) Other useful documents for review (e.g., the full text of the paper)
      3. Graduate students must apply for official business leave for going abroad on the Student Leave
         Application Online System (in YunTech SSO) in advance. Students participating in various activities on 
         weekdays or holidays (including summer and winter vacation) for an official purpose, with no courses scheduled
         at YunTech during the leave, are still required to log into the Student Leave Application Online System to apply for leave.

V. Procedure for subsidized cases modification: 
     1. Subsidy cases shall not be arbitrarily changed without being submitted by the grantee and the 
          applicant institution and approved by NSTC.
     2. Grantees shall apply for changes online at the "Academic Research Service Portal" of the NSTC website and submit the
         relevant information. The students should notify YunTech OIA of their application for the changes, then after reviewing,
         the application shall be sent online to the NSTC. 
         The modification will be completed after NSTC permits the modification.
         Notice! all changes shall be applied before the conference, except for the cancellation applications.
     3. When the granted case is approved for cancellation by NSTC, the same graduate student can
         apply for attending other international academic conferences in the same year.

VI. Deadline for Reimbursement:
      Within 15 days after the conclusion of the conference, the grantee must submit a report on the attendance of the
      international academic conference through the online system ("Academic Research Service Portal" of the NSTC website),
      register the funds for reimbursement, and inform YunTech OIA to submit online and also official document to the NSTC.
      Notice! The reimbursement must be accomplished before the accounting closing date in December.

        1. No higher than the approved amount of subsidy, grantees have to prepare the required documents in order,
            and handle the reimbursement application in accordance with YunTech's funding verification regulations.

(It is also not allowed to share the expense reimbursement with the special research projects of the NSTC.)
3. Grantees should apply for changes (including cancellation) online on the "Academic Research Service Portal" of the NSTC website,

4. If the international academic conference to which the grantee applies for participation adopts video conferencing, he/she participates in

6. Except for reasons caused by force majeure, if a grantee has not completed the report submission or the funding reimbursement for the
international academic conference with the prescribed deadline, he/she shall not submit the application for the international academic
conference in the following year.

Subsidy for  Domestic Graduate Students by the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) 
to Attend International Academic Conferences

I. Who can apply :
    1. Full-time graduate students with YunTech academic status(excluding In-Service education program student)  
    2. The paper applied for funding is accomplished and will be published with the credit to the University (YunTech),
        and have been completed in the school but have not yet been published.      

II. Deadline for Application:
     No later than the first day of the previous month of the conference holding month
     (YunTech deadline is before 12:00 noon) 
     (For example, if the conference will open on August 15, 2021,
     the application should be submitted before 12:00 July 1, 2021 by YunTech students).
     Application will not be accepted after the deadline.
     (After the postgraduate student submits it online, it must be submitted online by OIA.
     Please be sure to submit it before the YunTech deadline.)

III. About the Grant: 
       1. Grant Item(grantees have to pay by themselves in advance)
           (1) Round-trip airfare: An economy class round-trip ticket for the most direct route between
                Taiwan and the location of the conference, and the airlines restricted to those operated by Taiwan-registered companies.
           (2) Conference Registration Fee
           (3) For severely disabled grantees who need to be accompanied by an accompanying caregiver to
                attend the international academic conference, a round-trip economy class air ticket for the accompanying
                caregiver  may be subsidized with the approval of the NSTC.
       2. Expenses incurred for attending international conference, but not covered by the subsidies listed above,
           shall not be  reimbursed under any research projects funding of the NSTC.
       3. This subsidy is for the exclusive use of funds, and no other person may attend the international conference,
           change participation in other conferences, or transfer to other purposes.

IV. How to Apply: 
      1. Graduate students should first log in to the "Academic Research Service Portal" of the NSTC website 
          with their personal account to make the required documents online and send them to the applicant institution.
          The students should notify YunTech OIA of their application for the subsidy, then OIA will collect and compile
           the application materials and submit online to the NSTC.          
      2. Required Documents:
         (1) The application form
         (2) The official document indicating that a paper has been accepted for presentation at a conference
         (3) The abstract of the paper to be presented
         (4) The faculty adviser’s letter of recommendation (the student’s foreign language proficiency must be indicated).
              (Uploaded by the adviser with his/her personal account in the NSTC, not uploaded by the graduate student)
         (5) Other useful documents for review (e.g., the full text of the paper)
      3. Graduate students must apply for official business leave for going abroad on the Student Leave
         Application Online System (in YunTech SSO) in advance. Students participating in various activities on 
         weekdays or holidays (including summer and winter vacation) for an official purpose, with no courses scheduled
         at YunTech during the leave, are still required to log into the Student Leave Application Online System to apply for leave.

V. Procedure for subsidized cases modification: 
     1. Subsidy cases shall not be arbitrarily changed without being submitted by the grantee and the 
          applicant institution and approved by NSTC.
     2. Grantees shall apply for changes online at the "Academic Research Service Portal" of the NSTC website and submit the
         relevant information. The students should notify YunTech OIA of their application for the changes, then after reviewing,
         the application shall be sent online to the NSTC. 
         The modification will be completed after NSTC permits the modification.
         Notice! all changes shall be applied before the conference, except for the cancellation applications.
     3. When the granted case is approved for cancellation by NSTC, the same graduate student can
         apply for attending other international academic conferences in the same year.

VI. Deadline for Reimbursement:
      Within 15 days after the conclusion of the conference, the grantee must submit a report on the attendance of the
      international academic conference through the online system ("Academic Research Service Portal" of the NSTC website),
      register the funds for reimbursement, and inform YunTech OIA to submit online and also official document to the NSTC.
      Notice! The reimbursement must be accomplished before the accounting closing date in December.

VII. Required Documents for Reimbursement:
        1. No higher than the approved amount of subsidy, grantees have to prepare the required documents in order,
            and handle the reimbursement application in accordance with YunTech's funding verification regulations.

About the co-authored papers, the grant shall also be limited to one graduate student per paper.
2. The same graduate student who has received a grant from another government agency to attend an international academic
conference shall not apply for the grant again to NSTC. If the graduate student is found to have made a false statement,
his/her eligibility will be revoked.
(It is also not allowed to share the expense reimbursement with the special research projects of the NSTC.)
3. Grantees should apply for changes (including cancellation) online on the "Academic Research Service Portal" of the NSTC website,
and notify YunTech OIA of the application, then OIA will submit online to the NSTC.
Notice! all changes should be applied for before the meeting, except for cancellation applications.
4. If the international academic conference to which the grantee applies for participation adopts video conferencing, he/she participates in
the conference by video is deemed to have attended the conference in person.
5. Graduate students must apply for official business leave for going abroad on the Student Leave Application Online System (in YunTech SSO)
in advance. Students participating in various activities on weekdays or holidays (including summer and winter vacation) for an official purpose,

6. Except for reasons caused by force majeure, if a grantee has not completed the report submission or the funding reimbursement for the
international academic conference with the prescribed deadline, he/she shall not submit the application for the international academic
conference in the following year.

National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) Regulations for Funding for Holding International Academic Conferences in Taiwan

I. Who can apply :
   The full-time teaching, research or technical staff of YunTech (hereinafter referred to as the conference organizer)
   can log in to the "Academic Research Service Portal" of the NSTC website to apply online and submit. 
   After submission, please inform YunTech OIA to send it out online.      

II. Apply Date:
     1. 1st Batch: March 1st to 31th
     2. 2nd Batch: September 1st to 30th
     (Different types of seminars have different requirements for the acceptance period, please read the regulations of the NSTC.)

III. About the Grant: 
       1. The subsidy items are limited to the cost items mentioned in the original application. The applicant organization may allocate and use
           within the total amount approved by the NSTC. Funding for childcare services can only be provided according to actual needs.
       2. This subsidy case is for exclusive use and cannot be used for other subsidy cases, nor can it be used for other purposes.
       3. Expenditure should be consistent with the content of the expenditures of the items listed in the original plan application.
       4. The expenditure of subsidies must comply with government regulations, and the calculation standards for the payment of foreign
           experts and scholars to Taiwan shall be handled in accordance with the provisions of the
            "各機關聘請國外顧問、專家及學者來臺工作期間支付費用最高標準表Highest Standards for Payment of Foreign Consultants,
             Experts and Scholars to Work in Taiwan by Various Authorities
" stipulated by the Executive Yuan.
           For the parts not regulated in the mentioned provision above, shall be handled in accordance with the NSTC’s
          "補助國外學者專家來臺從事科技合作研究活動支付費用最高標準表Highest Standards for Payment of Subsidies for Foreign Scholars
            and Experts to Come to Taiwan to Engage in Scientific and Technological Cooperative Research Activities" and related regulations.
       5. Experts and scholars invited in international academic conferences are not allowed to apply for additional subsidies for
           "Directions governing MOST subsidies for inviting international technology professionals short-term visits
            (科技部補助邀請國際科技人士短期訪問作業要點)."
       6. Full-time, part-time personnel, temporary workers, etc. who have received other subsidies from the NSTC who have assisted in
          organizing academic conferences are not allowed to apply for funding for this subsidy during the original working hours.

IV. Procedure for subsidized cases modification: 
     1. Subsidy cases shall not be arbitrarily changed without being submitted by the applicant institution and approved by NSTC.
     2. Grantees shall apply for changes online at the "Academic Research Service Portal" of the NSTC website and submit the relevant
         information. Applicants should notify YunTech OIA of their application for the changes, then after reviewing, the application shall be sent
         online to the NSTC. The modification will be completed after NSTC permits the modification.
         Notice! all changes shall be applied before the conference, except for the cancellation applications.

V. About Reimbursement:
    1. No higher than the approved amount of subsidy, grantees have to prepare related receipts in order, and handle the
        reimbursement application in accordance with YunTech's funding verification regulations.
    2. Within 3 months after holding the academic conference, the grantee must submit a report on the academic conference through the
        online system ("Academic Research Service Portal" of the NSTC website), register the funds for reimbursement, and inform YunTech OIA
        to submit online and also official document to the NSTC.
        Notice! The reimbursement must be accomplished before the accounting closing date in December.
    3. Official documents for the NSTC:
        A. If the funding source for the academic conference is only from the NSTC, the following documents should be submitted to the NSTC:
            (1) 請款領據YunTech Receipt
            (2) 預算收支報告表Budget income and expenditure report: All items and amounts of total revenue and total expenditure should
                  be listed, and the total revenue amount must be equal to the total expenditure amount, and should be reviewed and stamped by
                  the head of the executive agency and the chief accountant.
            (3) 全案原始憑證Original reimbursement document
            (4) 國科會核定函影本A copy of the NSTC approval letter
        B.  If NSTC is not the only funding source for the academic conference, the following documents should be submitted to the NSTC:
            (1) 請款領據YunTech Receipt
            (2) 預算收支報告表Budget income and expenditure report: All items and amounts of total revenue and total expenditure should
                 be listed, and the total revenue amount must be equal to the total expenditure amount, and should be reviewed and stamped by

1. When mentioning the name of our country in international academic conferences, the name of the Republic of China
("Taiwan" or "Taiwan, R.O.C.") should be used, and if necessary, it can be handled in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
2. For those subsidized by the NSTC, the organizers are requested to disclose and state the words
"Sponsored by National Science and Technology Council " on the spots of conferences and printed materials (such as posters, essays, notices, and manuals)
3. If the international academic conference adopts video conferencing or other digital technology, the participants who
participate in the conference by above-mentioned technology shall be deemed to have attended the conference in person

I. Units applying for subsidies that meet the regulation should first apply to the Ministry of Education,
   the Ministry of Science and Technology or other off-campus agencies for funding subsidies;
   The funding from YunTech is based on the principle of subsidizing part of the funds.
   If the applying unit is fully subsidized by other agencies, YunTech will not provide subsidies.

II. Apply Deadline:
    Applicants should send the application form together with the proposal to the OIA and the Chief Accounting Office
    for approval at least 15 days before the date of the academic conferences, and then submit it to the principal for approval.

III. About the Proposal:
      It should include the purpose of the conference, agenda, topic outline, budget, the academic experience of the invited
      lecturer and the publication of the latest five years, the number of scheduled participants, work organization and task division,
      and expected results.

IV. About the Grant:
     This fund can be used for lecture fees, printing fees, transportation expenses, board and lodging expenses,
      and others (for example: stationery, post and telecommunications, venue layout, related consumables, etc.).
     --The transportation subsidy is limited to serving as a lecturer, introduction, host, and commentator.
     Notice! This fund cannot be used as work-study funds. Personnel in YunTech are not allowed to receive examination fees,
                attendance fees, hosting fees, and introduction fees.

V. About Reimbursement:
    1. No higher than the approved amount of subsidy, grantees have to prepare related receipts in order, and handle the
        reimbursement application in accordance with YunTech's funding verification regulations.
        Notice! The reimbursement must be accomplished before the accounting closing date in December.

I. Who can apply :
    1. Current teaching or research staff in YunTech
    2. Post-doctoral research fellows participating in NSTC research projects.   

II. Deadline for Application:
     No later than six weeks before the date of the international academic conference.
     (YunTech deadline is before 12:00 noon) 
     (After the applicant submits it online, it must be submitted online by OIA.
     Please be sure to submit it before the YunTech deadline.)

III. About the Grant Item: (grantees have to pay by themselves in advance)
       1. Round-trip airfare: An economy class round-trip ticket for the most direct route between
          Taiwan and the location of the conference, and the airlines restricted to those operated by Taiwan-registered companies.
       2. Living expenses during the period of going abroad
       3. Conference Registration Fee
       4. Handling fee (including passport fee, visa fee, yellow paper fee, vaccination fee, foreign exchange settlement fee
           and airport service fee)
       5. Insurance premium (the insured amount of people traveling abroad on business is up to NT$4 million)
       6. For severely disabled grantees (with certified document) who need to be accompanied by an accompanying caregiver to
           attend the international academic conference, the travel expenses for the accompanying caregiver  may be subsidized
           with the approval of the NSTC.
           --The application and settlement of its travel expenses shall be handled together with the application for attending the
              international conference

IV. How to Apply: 
      1. Applicants need to log on to the  "Academic Research Service Portal" of the NSTC website with their personal account to
          make the required documents online and send them to the applicant institution.
          The applicants should notify YunTech OIA of their application for the subsidy, then OIA will collect and compile the application
          materials and submit online to the NSTC.          
      2. Required Documents:
         (1) The application form
         (2) Acceptance letter. If the acceptance letter cannot be provided along with the application, applicants shall indicate the acceptance
              letter will be submitted and shall be sent to the NSTC no later than 3 weeks prior to the date of the conference.
         (3) Abstract for conference paper (papers are limited to which have not been published in journals or other international
              conferences).
         (4) Other documents useful for review(such as the full text of the paper).        

V. Procedure for subsidized cases modification: 
     1. Subsidy cases shall not be arbitrarily changed without being submitted by the grantee and the 
          applicant institution and approved by NSTV.
     2. Grantees shall apply for changes online at the "Academic Research Service Portal" of the NSTC website and submit the
         relevant information. The grantees should notify YunTech OIA of their application for the changes, then after reviewing,
         the application shall be sent online to the NSTC. 
         The modification will be completed after NSTC permits the modification.

      *If the items are not changeable on the system, grantees have to prepare related documents for YunTech OIA to submit online
        and also official document to the NSTC for change*

1. The same attendee who has received a grant from another government agency to attend an international academic conference shall not
apply for the grant again to NSTC. If the paper is co-authored, the grant shall be limited to one person per paper.
2. The attendees may only receive one grant in the same fiscal year. If the principal investigator among the attendees has been granted a
S&T research project and approved to receive the subsidy for attending an international academic conference, the principal investigator
will not be granted again.
3. When the attendees attend an international academic conference in mainland China, the conference shall be hosted by an international
academic organization, or shall be hosted by an international academic organization and co-hosted by a relevant organization in
mainland China. Only if the above conditions are met, the application institution is eligible to apply for the subsidies from NSTC
in accordance with the above regulations.
4. When mentioning the name of our country in international academic conferences, the name of the Republic of China
("Taiwan" or "Taiwan, R.O.C.") should be used, and if necessary, it can be handled in accordance with the regulations
of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

5. The NSTC will not accept applications for attending international academic conferences before the expenses of the
attendees to go abroad are reported.
6. Special positions such as board supervisors of important international academic societies or editorial members of internationally
renowned academic journals, and those who must attend relevant meetings and do not publish papers shall apply for subsidies
according to the regulation, and are not subject to the fifth point of the regulation: "The subsidy is limited to one time in the same fiscal year".

   1. Applicants must notify the OIA after submitting an online application on the website of the NSTC one week before
       the deadline of the NSTC (or the deadline set by YunTech).
   2. Any changes must be applied in advance for approval of  NSTC.

VI.Bilateral Agreement NSTC Add- on Grant for International Cooperation
    1.Since May 2018, the  NSTC subsidies for international cooperation research projects under bilateral agreements
       have been changed to the ways of "add-on".
    2. Qualifications of principal investigators from Taiwan:
        Only principal investigators currently implementing  NSTC-funded research-category projects are eligible.
        The projects referred to in the preceding do not include the planning of promotion projects,
         international cooperation projects under bilateral agreements, or industrial-academia cooperation projects.
        These projects should be relevant to the research topics of the proposed international cooperation projects.
    3. Applicants must notify the OIA after submitting an online application on the website of the NSTC one week before
       the deadline of the MOST (or the deadline set by YunTech).

National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) Regulations for Funding for Holding International Academic Conferences in Taiwan

I. Who can apply :
   The full-time teaching, research or technical staff of YunTech (hereinafter referred to as the conference organizer)
   can log in to the "Academic Research Service Portal" of the NSTC website to apply online and submit. 
   After submission, please inform YunTech OIA to send it out online.      

II. Apply Date:
     1. 1st Batch: March 1st to 31th
     2. 2nd Batch: September 1st to 30th
     (Different types of seminars have different requirements for the acceptance period, please read the regulations of the NSTC.)

III. About the Grant: 
       1. The subsidy items are limited to the cost items mentioned in the original application. The applicant organization may allocate and use
           within the total amount approved by the NSTC. Funding for childcare services can only be provided according to actual needs.
       2. This subsidy case is for exclusive use and cannot be used for other subsidy cases, nor can it be used for other purposes.
       3. Expenditure should be consistent with the content of the expenditures of the items listed in the original plan application.
       4. The expenditure of subsidies must comply with government regulations, and the calculation standards for the payment of foreign
           experts and scholars to Taiwan shall be handled in accordance with the provisions of the
            "各機關聘請國外顧問、專家及學者來臺工作期間支付費用最高標準表Highest Standards for Payment of Foreign Consultants,
             Experts and Scholars to Work in Taiwan by Various Authorities
" stipulated by the Executive Yuan.
           For the parts not regulated in the mentioned provision above, shall be handled in accordance with the NSTC’s
          "補助國外學者專家來臺從事科技合作研究活動支付費用最高標準表Highest Standards for Payment of Subsidies for Foreign Scholars
            and Experts to Come to Taiwan to Engage in Scientific and Technological Cooperative Research Activities" and related regulations.
       5. Experts and scholars invited in international academic conferences are not allowed to apply for additional subsidies for
           "Directions governing MOST subsidies for inviting international technology professionals short-term visits
            (科技部補助邀請國際科技人士短期訪問作業要點)."
       6. Full-time, part-time personnel, temporary workers, etc. who have received other subsidies from the NSTC who have assisted in
          organizing academic conferences are not allowed to apply for funding for this subsidy during the original working hours.

IV. Procedure for subsidized cases modification: 
     1. Subsidy cases shall not be arbitrarily changed without being submitted by the applicant institution and approved by NSTC.
     2. Grantees shall apply for changes online at the "Academic Research Service Portal" of the NSTC website and submit the relevant
         information. Applicants should notify YunTech OIA of their application for the changes, then after reviewing, the application shall be sent
         online to the NSTC. The modification will be completed after NSTC permits the modification.
         Notice! all changes shall be applied before the conference, except for the cancellation applications.

V. About Reimbursement:
    1. No higher than the approved amount of subsidy, grantees have to prepare related receipts in order, and handle the
        reimbursement application in accordance with YunTech's funding verification regulations.
    2. Within 3 months after holding the academic conference, the grantee must submit a report on the academic conference through the
        online system ("Academic Research Service Portal" of the NSTC website), register the funds for reimbursement, and inform YunTech OIA
        to submit online and also official document to the NSTC.
        Notice! The reimbursement must be accomplished before the accounting closing date in December.
    3. Official documents for the NSTC:
        A. If the funding source for the academic conference is only from the NSTC, the following documents should be submitted to the NSTC:
            (1) 請款領據YunTech Receipt
            (2) 預算收支報告表Budget income and expenditure report: All items and amounts of total revenue and total expenditure should
                  be listed, and the total revenue amount must be equal to the total expenditure amount, and should be reviewed and stamped by
                  the head of the executive agency and the chief accountant.
            (3) 全案原始憑證Original reimbursement document
            (4) 國科會核定函影本A copy of the NSTC approval letter
        B.  If NSTC is not the only funding source for the academic conference, the following documents should be submitted to the NSTC:
            (1) 請款領據YunTech Receipt
            (2) 預算收支報告表Budget income and expenditure report: All items and amounts of total revenue and total expenditure should
                 be listed, and the total revenue amount must be equal to the total expenditure amount, and should be reviewed and stamped by
                 the head of the executive agency and the chief accountant.
                 --The items and amounts of the subsidies paid by the NSTC must be listed, and they must be consistent with the items
                   mentioned in the original plan application.
                   (if there are any approved modification, the revised expenditure schedule shall prevail)
            (3) 國科會核定函影本A copy of the NSTC approval letter
            (4) 同意變更核定函影本Copies of the approval letters for the modification (if applicable)

4.Courtesy Reminder
1. When mentioning the name of our country in international academic conferences, the name of the Republic of China
("Taiwan" or "Taiwan, R.O.C.") should be used, and if necessary, it can be handled in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
2. For those subsidized by the NSTC, the organizers are requested to disclose and state the words
"Sponsored by National Science and Technology Council " on the spots of conferences and printed materials (such as posters, essays, notices, and manuals)
3. If the international academic conference adopts video conferencing or other digital technology, the participants who
participate in the conference by above-mentioned technology shall be deemed to have attended the conference in person

I. Units applying for subsidies that meet the regulation should first apply to the Ministry of Education,
   the Ministry of Science and Technology or other off-campus agencies for funding subsidies;
   The funding from YunTech is based on the principle of subsidizing part of the funds.
   If the applying unit is fully subsidized by other agencies, YunTech will not provide subsidies.

II. Apply Deadline:
    Applicants should send the application form together with the proposal to the OIA and the Chief Accounting Office
    for approval at least 15 days before the date of the academic conferences, and then submit it to the principal for approval.

III. About the Proposal:
      It should include the purpose of the conference, agenda, topic outline, budget, the academic experience of the invited
      lecturer and the publication of the latest five years, the number of scheduled participants, work organization and task division,
      and expected results.

IV. About the Grant:
     This fund can be used for lecture fees, printing fees, transportation expenses, board and lodging expenses,
      and others (for example: stationery, post and telecommunications, venue layout, related consumables, etc.).
     --The transportation subsidy is limited to serving as a lecturer, introduction, host, and commentator.
     Notice! This fund cannot be used as work-study funds. Personnel in YunTech are not allowed to receive examination fees,
                attendance fees, hosting fees, and introduction fees.

V. About Reimbursement:
    1. No higher than the approved amount of subsidy, grantees have to prepare related receipts in order, and handle the
        reimbursement application in accordance with YunTech's funding verification regulations.
        Notice! The reimbursement must be accomplished before the accounting closing date in December.
    2. Within 1 month after holding the academic conference, the grantee has to submit documents to YunTech OIA,
        including a report on the academic conference, a list of attendees (with units and title),
        and proceedings (written or electronic files in Chinese and English).

Subsidy for Domestic Scholars and Experts to Attend International Academic Conferences
(from National Science and Technology Council)

I. Who can apply :
    1. Current teaching or research staff in YunTech
    2. Post-doctoral research fellows participating in NSTC research projects.   

II. Deadline for Application:
     No later than six weeks before the date of the international academic conference.
     (YunTech deadline is before 12:00 noon) 
     (After the applicant submits it online, it must be submitted online by OIA.
     Please be sure to submit it before the YunTech deadline.)

III. About the Grant Item: (grantees have to pay by themselves in advance)
       1. Round-trip airfare: An economy class round-trip ticket for the most direct route between
          Taiwan and the location of the conference, and the airlines restricted to those operated by Taiwan-registered companies.
       2. Living expenses during the period of going abroad
       3. Conference Registration Fee
       4. Handling fee (including passport fee, visa fee, yellow paper fee, vaccination fee, foreign exchange settlement fee
           and airport service fee)
       5. Insurance premium (the insured amount of people traveling abroad on business is up to NT$4 million)
       6. For severely disabled grantees (with certified document) who need to be accompanied by an accompanying caregiver to
           attend the international academic conference, the travel expenses for the accompanying caregiver  may be subsidized
           with the approval of the NSTC.
           --The application and settlement of its travel expenses shall be handled together with the application for attending the
              international conference

IV. How to Apply: 
      1. Applicants need to log on to the  "Academic Research Service Portal" of the NSTC website with their personal account to
          make the required documents online and send them to the applicant institution.
          The applicants should notify YunTech OIA of their application for the subsidy, then OIA will collect and compile the application
          materials and submit online to the NSTC.          
      2. Required Documents:
         (1) The application form
         (2) Acceptance letter. If the acceptance letter cannot be provided along with the application, applicants shall indicate the acceptance
              letter will be submitted and shall be sent to the NSTC no later than 3 weeks prior to the date of the conference.
         (3) Abstract for conference paper (papers are limited to which have not been published in journals or other international
              conferences).
         (4) Other documents useful for review(such as the full text of the paper).        

V. Procedure for subsidized cases modification:

          applicant institution and approved by NSTV.
     2. Grantees shall apply for changes online at the "Academic Research Service Portal" of the NSTC website and submit the
         relevant information. The grantees should notify YunTech OIA of their application for the changes, then after reviewing,
         the application shall be sent online to the NSTC. 
         The modification will be completed after NSTC permits the modification.
         Notice! all changes shall be applied before the conference, except for the cancellation applications.
      *If the items are not changeable on the system, grantees have to prepare related documents for YunTech OIA to submit online
        and also official document to the NSTC for change*

VI. Deadline for Reimbursement: 
      Within 1 month after the conclusion of the conference, the grantee shall submit a report on the attendance of the
      international academic conference through the online system ("Academic Research Service Portal" of the NSTC website),
      register the funds for reimbursement, and inform YunTech OIA to submit online and also official document to the NSTC.
      Notice! The reimbursement must be accomplished before the accounting closing date in December.

VII. Required Documents for Reimbursement:
        1. No higher than the approved amount of subsidy, grantees have to prepare the required documents in order,
            and handle the reimbursement application in accordance with YunTech's funding verification regulations.

4.Courtesy Reminder
1. The same attendee who has received a grant from another government agency to attend an international academic conference shall not
apply for the grant again to NSTC. If the paper is co-authored, the grant shall be limited to one person per paper.
2. The attendees may only receive one grant in the same fiscal year. If the principal investigator among the attendees has been granted a
S&T research project and approved to receive the subsidy for attending an international academic conference, the principal investigator
will not be granted again.
3. When the attendees attend an international academic conference in mainland China, the conference shall be hosted by an international
academic organization, or shall be hosted by an international academic organization and co-hosted by a relevant organization in
mainland China. Only if the above conditions are met, the application institution is eligible to apply for the subsidies from NSTC
in accordance with the above regulations.
4. When mentioning the name of our country in international academic conferences, the name of the Republic of China
("Taiwan" or "Taiwan, R.O.C.") should be used, and if necessary, it can be handled in accordance with the regulations
of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

5. The NSTC will not accept applications for attending international academic conferences before the expenses of the
attendees to go abroad are reported.
6. Special positions such as board supervisors of important international academic societies or editorial members of internationally
renowned academic journals, and those who must attend relevant meetings and do not publish papers shall apply for subsidies
according to the regulation, and are not subject to the fifth point of the regulation: "The subsidy is limited to one time in the same fiscal year".

VI.Bilateral Agreement NSTC Add- on Grant for International Cooperation
    1.Since May 2018, the  NSTC subsidies for international cooperation research projects under bilateral agreements
       have been changed to the ways of "add-on".
    2. Qualifications of principal investigators from Taiwan:
        Only principal investigators currently implementing  NSTC-funded research-category projects are eligible.
        The projects referred to in the preceding do not include the planning of promotion projects,
         international cooperation projects under bilateral agreements, or industrial-academia cooperation projects.
        These projects should be relevant to the research topics of the proposed international cooperation projects.
    3. Applicants must notify the OIA after submitting an online application on the website of the NSTC one week before
       the deadline of the MOST (or the deadline set by YunTech).
