Funding Details:

Maximum funding per project: NT$240,000 per year.

NSTC will cover the transportation and insurance costs for Taiwanese personnel traveling to Hungary, and living expenses for Hungarian personnel coming to Taiwan.

Research-related costs such as personnel, materials, and computer usage will not be covered.
Funding Period:
January 1, 2026 – December 31, 2027 (in principle, a two-year project)
Continuation to the second year is contingent on completion of the first-year project and approval of the project report.
Project Focus:
To cultivate international collaboration experience among young domestic researchers, expand global academic networks, and enhance international mobility. Since signing the cooperation agreement with the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (HAS) in 1991, the NSTC has promoted the Bilateral Collaborative Research Personnel Exchange Program (PPP) to encourage researchers from both sides to jointly develop research projects and deepen scientific collaboration.
Eligibility:

The Taiwanese Principal Investigator (PI) must meet the qualifications stated in the NSTC's "Guidelines for Subsidizing Research Projects."

Project participants may include co-PIs, postdoctoral researchers, and PhD students.

Both PIs from Taiwan and Hungary must submit applications to NSTC and HAS respectively before their deadlines. Proposals submitted by only one side will not be considered.
