Eligibility Requirements:

1. Must have Japanese nationality.

2. As of September 2025, the applicant must be an international student enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program in Taiwan (undergraduate students, short-term students, and exchange students are not eligible).

3. Must be able to attend an in-person interview in Taiwan on Saturday, August 16, 2025.

4. Must have applied to a university in Taiwan and submit a letter of admission to the committee by Saturday, June 21, 2025. Applicants who do not receive admission will not be considered in the final selection.

5. Must be born on or after September 1, 1990 (under 35 years old).

6. Must be in good physical and mental health.

7. Applicants may not simultaneously receive this scholarship and any other scholarships. Double scholarship receipt is prohibited (waivers of tuition are not considered double receipt).

8. Even if the applicant is studying in an English-taught program in Taiwan, basic Chinese language ability is required to facilitate communication with members of the Rotary Yoneyama Memorial Association of the Republic of China.

Scholarship Amount and Quota:
Estimated number of recipients: 3 to 6 students.
Each recipient will receive NTD 25,000 per month from September 2025 to August 2026.

Required Documents:

1. Application Checklist.

2. Taiwan Yoneyama Scholarship Application Form (Use the designated format. Language: Chinese).

3. Research Plan Summary (Language: Chinese, within 1600 characters).

4. Proof of application or admission to a university in Taiwan (e.g., a copy of the admission letter). If currently enrolled, submit a certificate of enrollment.

5. Original academic transcripts (covering all academic years of the applicant’s current university program).

6. Original graduation certificate or expected graduation certificate from the most recently attended school, and a copy of the university admission letter.

7. Letter of recommendation from the academic advisor (must include a Chinese translation).

8. Copy of passport (proof of nationality).

9. Proof of Chinese language proficiency (official transcript or test result copy). The Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK) is the recommended test, and the test result must be attached.

10. Two photographs (4×5 cm): one affixed to the application form, and one with your name written on the back.

11. Declaration form (only required if admission letter or other documents are not submitted).

12. One standard envelope (23 cm × 12 cm) with the applicant’s current address written on it (no postage needed) for result notification purposes.
